What is Myotherapy?
Myotherapy
is a form of physical therapy which aims to identify the underlying cause of a musculoskeletal pathology (injury, movement restriction or source of pain and discomfort).
By assessing and evaluating the muscles and the tendons attaching them to bones and through examining movement patterns, a myotherapist is able to improve range of motion, reduce pain and discomfort caused by muscular or joint restrictions, and assist with improved mobility.
Using physical techniques including myofascial therapy, trigger point therapy, deep and superficial muscle massage techniques, muscle loading, cupping, dry needling, transcutaneous electrical neuromuscular stimulation (TENS) and gentle joint mobilising techniques, a myotherapist will reduce the impact of these injuries and conditions affecting movement.
Exercise rehabilitation will assist with improving condition and performance of the body's ability to move easier with reduced pain and restriction. Compared to general, non-specific remedial massage treatments, myotherapy aims to provide more lasting results by addressing the cause of the condition rather than just the symptoms.

Gabby's aim is simple:
Life is busy and life is full. Don't let your aches and pains slow you down. We're here to help you Get Better Faster (and stay that way...)

What are our covid-safety strategies?
Getting Better Faster requires the use of a fitted face mask by both therapist and patient during the consultation. Gabby may also use a face shield as well as a mask to provide an additional layer of safety for you. Instant hand sanitiser (70% alcohol) is available upon entry to the premises, and is regularly used by Gabby before, during and after treatment. The quality of air in the premises is maintained and monitored by the continual use of a Xiaomi mi HEPA air filter located next to the consulting table. This keeps the level of particles in the air below 400 micrograms, eliminating 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns from the room. At least 15 minutes is provided between patients entering and exiting the premises so that exposure to other patients is kept to a minimum. Patients are required to notify the clinic if they have been exposed to any respiratory diseases within the last 7 days, and to report any signs or symptoms of infectious diseases, particularly respiratory diseases. Additionally, the room and equipment including all contact surfaces are cleaned and sterilised by antibacterial alcohol wipes (75% ethyl alcohol), disinfectant surface spray (60% ethanol) and hospital-grade Viraclean disinfectant (0.42% benzalkonium chloride). All linen is laundered with Pine'o'clean disinfectant added to the wash & rinse cycles at temperatures in excess of 60 degrees C, then dried commercially at temperatures above 60 degrees C. Linen is ironed prior to being used to provide a high temperature application before contact with patients. Gabby remains masked while in public to minimise the risk of exposure to anything which may put your health at risk, so that she can maintain a healthy work environment. At Getting Better Faster, your continued safety is of the utmost importance to us.
